Hummingbird Floof on a Chilly Day

Hey there people! Do you love hummingbirds? We sure do! We have an awesome feeder which serves several local birds during the winter. We live in Canada, and while we’ve got some of the mildest winters in the country here in Vancouver, we still have a lot of chilly days.

This past holiday season brought some really cold temperatures, and we put heated nectar out in the feeders, sometimes every hour or so. The little birds got through, and now it’s only cold enough to require floofing up on a branch.

Here’s one of our amazing Anna’s hummingbirds, Vancouver’s Official City Bird, having a floof break.
